The San Francisco Bay Area/Sacramento/San Joaquin megaregion currently has a population of 12.5 million and is expected to grow to 14.9 million by 2050. An efficient and fully integrated mass transit system and coordinated land use policies will be needed to serve the region's diverse communities and employment/cultural centers. Existing transit systems in Europe, Japan, and China have already demonstrated the ways that mass transit can improve the quality of life in a megaregion. To address the future needs of the Northern California megaregion, BART and Capital Corridor have jointly launched Link21, the largest transit investment study ever undertaken in the U.S.
Come to the Asian American Architects and Engineers' 2023 Annual Dinner Gala to learn from and network among key government transportation officials and peer engineering and architectural firms who are working to make the transit mobility improvements laid out in Link21 a reality.
