The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is required to submit its overall annual Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal and methodology to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and is seeking public comment on its proposed 2016-2018 overall DBE goal and methodology. Caltrans encourages the public to provide comments regarding its proposed overall DBE goal as well as their experience competing for or working on Caltrans projects. We also welcome suggestions on ways to improve contracting opportunities for DBEs and small businesses. Caltrans’ 2016-2018 overall DBE goal and methodology will be posted for 30 days. It is available on the Office of Business and Economic Opportunity (OBEO) website at www.dot.ca.gov/hq/bep.
