At its Annual Dinner Gala on October 15, 2015, the Asian American Architects and Engineers Association (AAAE) will present an award to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) as a Community Partner and to Mr. Geoff Neumayr, SFO’s Deputy Director of Design and Construction, recognizing SFO’s longstanding commitment to conducting outreach in the SBE/LBE/DBE communities and diversifying SFO sponsored contracts. Mr. Ivar Satero, SFO’s Chief Operating Officer will be accepting the award on SFO’s behalf.
SFO has long been the champion for our community. Since undertaking the design and construction of the International Terminal in the 1990s, SFO has been the leader among all Bay Area government agencies in providing equal contracting opportunities for small, local, minority, and woman-owned architects and engineers, going above and beyond City and agency requirements. SFO has consistently responded positively to our needs and concerns, and has implemented creative incentives to encourage the participation of small and disadvantaged businesses in its contracts, including major design-build efforts. As a result, many San Francisco-based architectural and engineering firms have thrived and prospered.
As a non-profit business organization with a mission to promote and practice equal opportunity, professional excellence, and social responsibility, AAAE very much appreciates SFO’s efforts and is honored that it shares those values.
AAAE’s 38th Annual Dinner Gala takes place at the on Thursday, October 15, from 6 to 9 pm at the InterContinental Hotel located at 888 Howard Street in San Francisco. If you would like to attend, please click here to register.
